Dialogue on Promoting Gender Equality and Inclusive Economic Growth: Challenges and Opportunities

Gender equality and the principle of leaving no one behind are central to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One multilateral organisation in India identified gender equality as a key strategic priority in its institutional planning for 2025, recognising it as a catalytic area for systemic transformation.

The organisation had also been implementing an internal certification process—part of its global flagship initiative—to build institutional capacity and demonstrate commitment to advancing women’s rights and gender equality.

A critical part of this work involved mainstreaming gender across all areas of its country programming, which called for deeper internal reflection, capacity building, and curated dialogues on gender, intersectionality, and the lived realities of the communities it served.

In this context, GenderSphere was engaged as a knowledge partner to support the learning needs of the India office. The goal was to enhance staff capacities and provide cutting-edge knowledge, evidence, tools, and reflective learning opportunities on gender and gender mainstreaming—specifically through curated dialogues.
