A Strategic Philanthropic Organisation

GenderSphere partnered with a philanthropic organisation to lead a comprehensive gender integration process across two key domains: internal organisational transformation and mainstreaming gender in the CoP (Collaborative of Practitioners).
At the institutional level, we co-designed and facilitated a multi-phased process, starting with the creation of a Strategic Support Group (SSG) within the organisation, comprising diverse internal champions. Through in-depth gender sensitisation workshops, participatory reviews, and the application of the Gender at Work analytical framework, the initiative deepened institutional awareness and commitment to gender equity. This included facilitating interactions with the leadership (XCOM), conducting a full organisational gender review using mixed methods (surveys, FGDs, interviews), and supporting action planning and early implementation stages.
Simultaneously, GenderSphere worked with the CoP secretariat and governance bodies to design a gender assessment and integration roadmap. This involved non-participant observations, document reviews, vignettes to catalyze reflection, and developing a roadmap to embed gender intentionality across governance, participation, decision-making, and organisational culture.
