APWLD’s Programme Work Supported by SIDA

This evaluation, supported by the the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) was conducted over a 6 month period (Oct 2022-March 2023) with the objectives of reviewing the impact of APWLD’s five-year strategic plan for the period of January 2017–December 2022, the effectiveness of APWLD’s organisational structure as a membership-driven network in advancing its goals and objectives, and the implementation of previous mid-term evaluation recommendations (conducted in 2019). Additionally, the evaluation provides recommendations to ensure that APWLD’s work continues to be effective, influential, and beneficial to the feminist movement in the region and globally.

Given the vast landscape of APWLD’s work, the evaluation also drew on another evaluation done for APWLD by our team (Mid Term Evaluation for SIDA, 2019, covering 4 programmes and organisational review, and Programmatic Review of 6 programmes for NORAD, 2022). Additionally, it specifically focused on APWLD’s work on climate justice, regional and global advocacy, crisis response and information and its info-communication efforts, including the Media Fellows Programme. It also reviewed the relevance of newer/focused areas of work, in terms of themes (Peace FPAR) and geographies (Central Asia).
