GenderSphere is a feminist resource centre that emerged from the coming together of diverse feminist practitioners—researchers, trainers, lawyers, campaigners and management experts—working to enhance policies, programs and operational methodologies through feminist praxis aimed at achieving gender justice and human rights. Grounded in experiential knowledge and contextual understanding, we apply a feminist lens and fosters collaborative working and sense-making to create pathways for gender transformative change for individuals and organisations.
We are committed to creating and maintaining spaces that are inclusive and diverse, ensuring that everyone, especially those from marginalised backgrounds, is supported in pursuing transformative action.
Our research is based on a wealth of experiences and resources, resulting in credible work that is rich in depth and quality. We hold ourselves to a high standard of accountability towards communities, human rights, gender justice and each other, ensuring transparency and ethical decision-making every step of the way.
We foster an environment of collaboration, both internally and externally, with the strong belief that collective sense-making, continuous learning, allyship, mutual respect and collaborative efforts are essential to challenging patriarchal and inequitable structures.
We work with institutions across civil society and the private sector to recognise, support, and value the diverse forms of work that women do—both paid and unpaid, within homes, communities, and workplaces. Our focus is on transforming structures to ensure dignity, equity, and voice for women through investments in care systems, supportive policies, and just conditions for all forms of labour.
We undertake research to examine the root causes of gender-based violence and identify approaches that drive structural change for its prevention. Our work builds the capacity of communities and organizations to adopt survivor-centred responses, supports institutional training on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH), and develops tools and frameworks to help individuals and collectives understand their rights and amplify the voices of survivors.
GenderSphere supports feminist movement-building by strengthening organizational capacities, fostering intergenerational leadership, and creating inclusive, resilient institutions. We partner with grassroots groups and coalitions to sustain collective action and transformative change.
GenderSphere works to make the law a tool for gender justice by bridging legal reform with lived realities. We engage in research, legal literacy, and capacity-building to ensure women and marginalized communities can claim and shape their rights.
We advocate for accessible, flexible funding to power women’s rights organizations and movements. Our research and advisory work interrogates funding landscapes, challenges restrictive financing models, and pushes for systems that centre gender transformative priorities.
